An international coastal cleanup event, California Coast & Creek Cleanup Day will be celebrating its 24th year. Sonoma County is proud to continue this tradition! Local volunteers will clean miles of coastline and inland waterways this year.
To participate on the coast, simply arrive at 8:30am at the Salmon Creek Ranger Station located on California Hwy 1 (3 miles north of Bodega Bay) on Saturday September 20th. We will offer beach assignments and supplies to all! See below for inland sites.
In 2006 over 530 Sonoma County volunteers participated and collected over 2,000 pounds of trash and almost 1,000 pounds of recyclables from 28 miles of our Sonoma County waterways - an amazing amount of debris, much of which is hiding underwater!
There is always more work to be done, so gather your friends and help clean our coastlines, creeks, lakes and rivers!
